"No empathy"

I received a call from Linda McCartney saying I had to go a get a blood test done immediately

I am on chemo and I was in bed when I received the call as I was feeling very unwell

I went into Garston health centre and took a ticket which showed 79 as we were only up to 40 I approached the phlebotomist and explained my situation to her as I was not feeling too good and with being in chemo I’m not supposed to sit in crowds etc because of the risk of infection

She bluntly told me there was nothing she could do and maybe I could find a quiet place to sit until my number was called

I burst into tears and asked to speak to her manager whom she said was on a break

I just walked out and we ended

Driving to the royal hospital where I was seen straight away

By this time I was really feeling bad and the forty minute drive to and from the royal did not help

Garston hospital is a five mi Ute drive

Surely hospital staff should use their common sense and put people’s needs first

I will not be using Garston again I’m absolutely disgusted in the lack of care and the attitude
