Oakwood Surgery is a Jewel in the Crown of Primary Care

I have been with Oakwood Surgery for 50 plus years and over those years, the surgery has become a precious and greatly valued asset for my father (now deceased), my mother and myself.

I cannot speak highly enough of the longstanding Doctor and his staff, as they are always thoroughly decent in dealing with my requests which are then always managed with great alacrity.

Most recently, I had the pleasure of a new Doctor's consultation, and I was highly impressed and relieved that he demonstrated the same patient focused values as the longstanding Doctor.

The values demonstrated by the leadership of the surgery, clearly cascade throughout the whole team at Oakwood Surgery which include the front-line staff at reception, the support staff for the GPs and the nursing staff.

The Oakwood Surgery is a small practice which operates in a highly challenging area - when I sit in the waiting area, I have seen the staff at the reception desk dealing with highly agitated and in some cases difficult individuals with patience, respect and dignity.

As an Executive at IBM, I recognise good practice and effective team work, and I can say without any reservation that the Oakwood Surgery operates as a highly effective, best of breed organisation.

Please note that these are not hollow sentiments, as I say this through experience of extremely disgraceful service that my wife and children experience from their local Hall Green practice which is far larger with greater resources at hand. The Oakwood Surgery is run for the benefit of it’s patients and is an asset for the community.

Finally, I would like this opportunity to convey my personal thanks to ALL the staff at Oakwood Surgery - you are a credit to NHS Primary Care.
