I was with my daughter when she had her baby last week, her treatment before birth was wonderful but after a traumatic birth things went wrong. She started going down hill in herself and I called the midwife back 3 times, my daughter told them she wasn’t feeling right, but was told to think happy thoughts! We are now 4 days later and her mental health has dipped dramatically. I think the staff need to listen when new mums tell them they don’t feel right, especially when the partners/mother tells them that she’s definitely not right! Thanks to a great mental health team we are getting the help she needs, however I feel if she was listened to and helped in the first instance, things would not have got this bad!
