"Neurology department communication"

About: Leicester General Hospital / Neurology

(as a service user),

Having contacted Neurology to pursue some image results and having been admitted to A&E the previous weekend with a suspected cerebral bleed I was spoken to with at best indifference and at worst rudeness.  I was not called back as promised by the first admin assistant.  When I rang again to speak to the Consultant’s Secretary I was cut off and no attempt was made to reconnect.  Patient Liaison also failed to contact this Department.

My interactions with this department over a very stressful 15 months I can only describe as being unprofessional, dismissive and thoroughly upsetting.  I have had appointments cancelled at the last minute, turned up for appointments and left waiting for 45 mins and then been cancelled, have waited months for results and found it impossible to contact the department.  I feel it is no exaggeration to say that the incompetence of this department will be putting lives at risk.  Shame on you Leicester NHS trust
