My father was admitted to Ayr Hospital while having a heart attack and following a short stay he passed away with my mother, sister and myself by his side.
Too often we hear negative comments about NHS Ayrshire & Arran staff and very rarely have positive feed back.
From the minute my father was admitted he and my family were treated with the utmost respect and provided with excellent care from all the staff. Empathy, kindness and support was always provided along with a cuddle when required.
By allowing us to stay within my fathers room we were given the opportunity to have precious time with my father without feeling we were in the way of his end of life care.
I would like to thank all the staff involved in my fathers care, they include the paramedics, nursing staff and consultant from the Emergency Department, nursing staff and consultant from CCU and Station 6.
