I had very successful cataract surgery on Monday 16th September, unfortunately there was a delay but I was kept fully informed and my husband was allowed to wait with me .Everyone of the clinical staff from HCA’s ,nurses ,theatre staff and the surgeon were excellent and as I’m due to have a second one done I shall be relaxed about it .Sadly ,the receptionist I met on my arrival spoiled what would have been a perfect review .She continued to chew the whole time ,didn’t have eye contact once or a suggestion of a smile .As She was doing something when I arrived I was more than happy to wait ,but eye contact and a smile would have made all the difference .I have been a GP receptionist for 20 years and I know the pressures they are under ,,but first contact makes a lasting impression .Apart from this a perfect experience !
