The staff team at the Rosa Burden Centre created a "safe space" for me to understand and improve on my condition (FND) They were patient, caring and kind and always had time to talk, no matter what time of night or day.
The team put me at the centre of recovery and supported me to engage in the wide range of services - from the consultants to OT, Physio, Psycho-therapy, and Speech and Language therapy, they all got it! This joined up approach meant everyone understood my condition and it became apparent how closely the team worked to communicate new information to one another to further support me. Thank you.
The centre itself felt like a rehabilitation unit and not a hospital (fortunately!) - there were volunteer dogs, and crafts people visiting, one lovely nurse even held a cooking class. The nursing staff are professional, calm and knowledgeable but not afraid to blend this with a genuine compassion. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and even made hot chocolate at night.
Two TV lounges, (one with a games room) enabled us all to communicate and create a space of shared understanding and non judgement - we all had/have our challenges!
The menu choices were excellent, catering for the whole spectrum (Vegan, veggie, GF)
The ancillary staff worked hard and the facilities, especially the bathrooms were very clean.
So thank you again for making my three week stay so beneficial, climbing those mountains together has given me so much understanding of how to navigate this disorder, through implementing the strategies and insight you all shared.
"Rosa Burden Centre team are excellent"
