"Inadequate staffing resulting in poor service"

Visited urgent care on 13th September had a 4 1/2 hour wait.

Was told 3hr waiting which I had to do as sent by GP surgery. After a 3 hr wait patients who had been there a short time started going through to be seen. After 4 people went through I went to ask if I had been forgotten. Was told this was just the way patients were called. I think it might have been helpful if patients were informed about this occasionally during the afternoon and evening, as patients were getting extremely frustrated.

When I eventually was seen, staff very abrupt and unsympathetic also not good at relating information. I became very worried and upset, and was just told if you become ill ring ambulance, when I left I was extremely worried and concerned for my health. The nurse practitioner diagnosed my problem but he had no right to do this as I needed a scan before diagnoses. I then had to wait the weekend with this on my mind was so worried.

Very shocked at my treatment. Maybe if there was inadequate staffing, we should have been informed and maybe referred to another hospital. I realise this not possible for all patients, but those that could may have gone to another hospital.

Very disappointed at my experience I’ve heard people say before but was agin shocked.
