About: Winterton Medical Practice

On the whole an excellent practise but the fact that the dispensary is not open weekends is a issue for myself and maybe others

I work all week and am unable to always leave a little early to collect medication which means I am without my medication now until next week.

I work near chesterfield and cannot always predict motorway traffic to get me to Winterton by 18:30.

It would be good if it could open for just a few hours on Saturday morning for people like myself who work all week being

Having had a stroke already means I need my medication

Firstly could I apologise for the time it has taken to respond to your comment. The feedback website used to be “NHS Choices” and we were notified when messages were added but since the transition to this new website we hadn’t been informed that your comment had been added. We have recently received a notification of a recent comment being added so appears that the notification process has now been resolved and during reviewing this comment I noticed your comment also on this site so again I apologise for this delay.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comment on the NHS Choices website, all feedback is greatly appreciated by the practice. Thank you also for your positive comment regarding the practice as a whole.

Our practice provides a service to patients as outlined in the NHS England- General Medical Services (GMS) Contract. The contract expects surgeries to provide services to patients between 8am-18:30pm Monday to Friday.

As a practice we are always looking at new ways of working and recently we have opened up some of our services to patients on a Saturday morning. This unfortunately doesn’t include the dispensary so I understand doesn’t solve your issue of the dispensary opening hours, however this could change in the future depending on the contractual agreements.
