"Main switchboard staff are rude, inept and evasive"

Received very rude treatment from switchboard staff when politely calling to find out more information about an appointment that I had received with no further information on what it was for and where I should attend. Being spoken to as though I were being stupid by not knowing what the appointment was for isn't necessary, being put through to the wrong department is inept, being cut off when still speaking is unacceptable. I rang back to request the name of the person I had spoken to so I could make a complaint about them and, though I was perfectly calm and polite, the next person was evasive and cut me off in a similar manner. This is not how to run a switchboard, the people on the other end of the phone are people too. Please remember this!
