"Communication could be better"

About: The Yorkshire Clinic

I was in for removal of a basal cell carcinoma and skin graft in August which was very successful. My only complaint was lack of communication. Check-in for the operation was 7 am but I didn't go in for surgery until 9.40. Why couldn't somebody warn me I'd be waiting a couple of hours or more? After the surgery I was discharged rather clumsily and by the time we got home there were streams of blood down my face. I thought something had gone wrong. My wife dressed to wound, she's good at that sort of thing. We rang Yorkshire Clinic for reassurance and they confirmed we were doing the right thing. Again, why couldn't someone have warned me the wound may bleed for a few days, don't worry, here are a few dressings to put you on. I'm talking about care and understanding form the person, not just the procedure.
