"Appointment times"

About: St James Medical Practice2

I have been at this surgery for 25 + years now the service used to be brilliant but since my doctor retired it has gone downhill today (9th September 19) I had an appointment for 4.40 as I work needed appointment after 4pm also my son who works nights was able to take me at this time so gets to the surgery to book in it say there is a 20 min wait no surprise as same every time I go there but waited till 5.10 pm and I had to leave as my son has to be back at work for 6pm he didn't have time to even eat by the time he got home as I live a little way from the doctors so I never got seen at all I am so angry as ever time I attend the doctors the wait is always 20 ,40 minutes or more over the appointed time this never happened when the other doctor was there I rang the practice manager to complain they said they can not determine how long a patient is with the doctor I fully understand that but this doctor is late every single day how can that be right

I asked for a prescription for antibiotics as I have a chest infection which is causing me to not sleep only to be told I have to be seen what a joke needless to say I am leaving this surgery as I can not take it anymore !!!!!!!!

I am sorry you feel the service has declined, as discussed we cannot determine the time delay as we are unable to predict the consultation needs of patients. You had been given an appointment on the same day, at a time slot of your choice. As I informed you the GP called you in 3 minutes after you had walked out of the surgery, I appreciate that due to your personal commitments you felt you were unable to stay but feel it is unjustifiably unfair of you to judge us for a delay in which we have no control over. I wish you well for the future in your new practice and hopefully demographics of a practice closer to home will assist in a better service for you.
