"Care given during my recent visit to A and E"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital / Accident and emergency

I visited A and E after falling and breaking my wrist. I was seen in triage and sent straight through to urgent care where I was sent almost immediately for an x ray. After confirming that I had broken my wrist I was given pain relief. I was seen by an orthopaedic doctor who explained that I would need an operation as soon as they could fit me in. A nurse then put my arm in a cast and I was sent for a further x ray. I arrived in A and E just before 5 pm and was on my way home at 9.15pm.Every member of staff treated me with care and reassurance..I had my operation 2 days later and once again cannot praise the staff on the surgical day unit highly enough. I count myself very lucky to be able to access the NHS especially at Blackburn Royal Hospital. The doctors and nurses work extremely hard despite all the cutbacks and ever increasing demands.Thank you.
