"We felt like a wee family"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Stroke Care

(as a service user),

Staff in stroke ward have been amazing. The ward was always happy and positive which was good for my moral. They were kind and thoughtful and helpful if you were upset. Their positivity made all of us on the ward feel like a wee family to such an extent that I didn't want to be moved to another hospital. They always asked how I was and if everything was ok. The assistants and auxilliaries were great too.

Sorry about writing, normally left handed.

Dear leopp36,

It is so nice to read your feedback in relation to your experience. It must have been a really difficult and emotional time for you being admitted with a stroke. The team will be delighted to read how their input supported you in your recovery.

The first few days have so many emotions and during this time trust and security is built up with the team. With a move this often brings fear. There is no doubt though this is a positive move as it is the next step on the road to recovery. The stroke rehabilitation units provide excellent care to support patients on this part of their journey.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. This is very much appreciated even more so with the effort you have made by using your non dominant hand. This is credit to you.

Best Wishes on your road to recovery,

Christine
