"Obstructive appointment booking system is no..."

About: Woosehill Practice

To make an appointment you have to phone at 8AM on either the day you want an appointment, or EXACTLY 7, 14 or 21 days in advance, and then hope you get lucky. For someone on a zero hours contract who drives to work at 8AM every day it is literally impossible to even make an appointment without losing money. I've tried phoning later in the day to make ANY appointment on ANY day at ANY time in the next 3 weeks, just to be told that they won't allow that and that I have to play their silly game of ringing at 8AM and hoping to get lucky. The system that they came up with may suit them, but it is of no use whatsoever to people like me.

Dear Patient

I am sorry that you are not happy with the appointment system We are constantly reviewing our system to improve where ever we can. With this in mind we have extended the forward booking for GP routine appointment to 3 weeks. This will be reviewed again after a trial period .We suggest if you have not registered for on line booking that you do so if possible, patients are booking on line as well as by phone. This will give you the flexibility to look for appointments when convenient for you. We release some appointment on the day also, hence the suggestion to call when they are released from 8 am. You would always be offered on the day appointment if the matter was more urgent or the option to have a Sit Wait appointment again these are released daily.

Kind regards

Chris Allen.
