"Service is absolutely appalling"

About: The Sandhurst Group Practice

We have been with the practice for 3 years and only managed to get 1 appointment with a 9 week wait!! Even i go on line i can only book with my named GP who only works a few days and always fully booked.

I rang the surgery to book an appointment this morning as have a bad chest infection, i waiting 25 minutes before i got through starting at 7.59am, to be told there are no appointments and no telephone calls and to call back at 2.00pm again, although can not guarantee a appointment then either!!

I can not believe the service Sandhurst Practice provides it is absolute disgusting.

I dread to think if i really had a medically urgent issue i find the unhelpful.

The practice needs to be looked at it can not carry on the way it is.

No wonder they are losing Partners and staff!!

It is not fair on the patients the way the practice is currently run.

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Please accept our sincere apologies for the problems you are having getting an appointment with Sandhurst Group Practice.

We do operate a 'named GP' surgery and do encourage everyone to see their own GP for continuity of care.

Appointments are available on line, in advance, but also released on the day.

They are only available with your own GP as you state but if you remember which days your own GP holds surgery these are available from just after midnight for the morning and just after 12:30pm for the afternoon.

This is before they are released on the phone or in person.

For Medical Emergencies we do offer a sit and wait service after morning & afternoon surgeries.

These appointments are for anyone who has a medically necessary problem which cannot wait until our next sessions to open at 8am or 2pm.

These are 5 minute appointments and you will then see the GP with most availability and you may be asked to attend the site which has the most GPs available.

For less urgent problems we also offer E-Consult which is our new on-line service where you can ask a Clinician any question about any medical problems including prescriptions, follow ups, results, medication etc or admin queries including replacement sick notes and referral issues etc.

Please do also ask about the availability of our extended access appointments which are available in the evenings & at the weekends from a central Bracknell surgery and bookable through our receptionists.

We are also planning and upgrade to our telephone system which will give us more incoming lines and the patient more options also, we are just awaiting the IT people to sort out a few problems.

We hope that these alternatives are helpful and that your experience with us next time you need our help will be more positive.
