"Visit for examinations in McGill Acute AMU ward"

About: Royal Hampshire County Hospital / General medicine

A very important visit for examinations, X-Rays and tests for a very nasty virus. I was totally exhausted from the condition. Took from 11.30am to 16.30pm.

During that time all the staff were very attentive and worked well as a Team. The ward was very busy and had no available beds, but we were attended to with empathy and always kept informed about the timings of examinations and waiting. There was goos liaison with our GP.. The only negative comment is that the entry corridor to a Nucleus Hospital Ward, is not a suitable space for waiting, as it is narrow and frequently used for bed and trolley movements.well done to the AMU Team.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback following your recent experience.

I am pleased to read of the efficient and empathetic care you received.

I have shared your comments with the clinical leaders of the service as it is important that we provide a high standard of care in every aspect of the service we provide.

We are currently creating an additional same day emergency care unit which will help with the space in the future, as we recognize that the corridor next to McGill is not ideal for patients to wait in.

If you wish to discuss your experience further then please contact our customer care team on 01256 486766 or email customercare@hhft.nhs.uk
