Hello
I had a late appointment at the Ravenscraig cardiology suite at University hospital Wishaw to have my annual cardiac echo. I arrived in good time at 19:20 and was told that they were running behind which I can understand.
There was only one patient in front of me and he was taken at approx. 19:45.
Following this I was called in at 20:15 and was asked to lay on the couch and the doctor told me he was quickly finishing up a report. At 20:30 I informed the Doctor that I could no longer wait as I had already made arrangements to come into my nightshift a little later but I could not hold off any longer.
I understand that clinics and investigative procedures can run behind schedule but what I do not understand is why the doctor decided instead of completing my ECHO then writing up his reports he decided instead to make me wait for additional time.
Previously on attending for my ECHO appointments they have been swiftly done by the technicians normally within half a hour of my appointment having to wait a hour and not even having my ECHO was in my opinion unacceptable considering the amount of people that were ahead of myself.
