I had to visit the A&E department of Calderdale hospital after being sent there by my GP.
I can only describe my visit as unorganised chaos.
The majority of the staff I saw were unfriendly and although I can appreciate they were extremely busy, the customer service was definitely lacking. I had various tests and eventually after 6 hours got to see a Dr who admitted I had been forgotten and when I was called through, there were no cubicles available so I had to stand by the computer in the middle of the room to discuss my results. As there were people constantly walking past, I didn’t feel it was an appropriate place to be discussing my personal information or to give me an opportunity to ask any questions. The departmant was dirty, especially the floors which were covered in stains and the drinks machine was out of order.
All in all, not a good experience.
"sadly, not a good experience in A&E"
