"A blood transfusion"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

I had never had a blood transfusion before and wasn't sure what to expect.   I am a patient within the United Lincolnshire Hospitals and because it was needed quickly I was sent to Grantham Hospital for this.   I arrived early but was seen ahead of my appointment time. The staff on duty (Babs and Jane) explained the procedure, which was less complicated than I had imagined.   I had to have three transfusions and each one lasted two hours.   Thanks to the staff I was made to feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the whole process.   After it finished, I was told I was looking beter and I certainly felt it.   A thumbs up to all involved.
