Phoned on the Wednesday, booked for Scope on the Sunday, excellent communication, attitude, care - all first-class service
My story is as follows; One Tuesday in August, just before I went on holiday for 2 weeks, I posted my "poo sample" to the NHS monitoring team. I duly went to the Sun and never gave it a second thought.
On return from holiday, there was l letter waiting for me to say that I required a Colonoscopy. I made contact the following day *(the Wednesday) with NHS Wishaw General to check what happened next. I was advised that a Colonoscopy procedure was required. They gave me an appointment for the Colonoscopy procedure the following Sunday.
I was quite apprehensive , as this is the first intrusive procedure that I have had in my life, and I am 69 years young. I duly attended and the whole procedure was excellent. The nurses were understanding, sympathetic and totally caring. The Doctor who carried out the procedure was excellent and explained what was happening minute by minute. No pain at all with no gas, jags etc. I had 2 polyps removed which will be sent away for checking.
I left Wishaw General at 2pm after a cup of tea and a chat with the nurse in charge. Later that afternoon, I had a nap in my back garden as the weather was glorious, then practiced my golf chipping, as it did my head in on Saturday's Medal.
21 Days from sending the poo sample away to being finished. Well done NHS Wishaw General. Think I'll have a wee glass of wine in the sun in the back garden. How good is that?
