"I felt very well looked after"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Day Surgery

(as the patient),

I came in for a sigmoidoscopy and general examination with the possibility of excision of skin tags/haemorrhoids if required. I was naturally quite nervous but I have to say from the moment of entering the department all of the staff were very welcoming and put me at my ease. I felt very well looked after and the consultant and anaesthetist explained everything to me and answered any questions that I had, they too put me at my ease. When I woke up I couldn’t believe it was all over. I was offered a drink and a choice of biscuits or a sandwich, I chose a cup of tea and jammie dodgers which I haven’t had for years!
