"The challenge of actually doing something about my situation"

About: Inclusion Recovery Hampshire / New Forest

(as a service user),

I was given the Inclusion contact 'phone number by my doctor but it was some months before I made contact. Right from the start I was made to feel welcome and 'normal'! By the reception staff and then by the group of people I met at the first Inclusion meeting I went to. There was no pressure to dive straight into any disclosure but it was encouraging and humbling to share in other people's stories and journey. Our main leader, Jason, was always encouraging but did not allow issues to be dodged! It was an extremely safe environment to be in. After a few weeks I felt able to accept the challenge of actually doing something about my situation. I was greatly helped by the group and by Jason's persistence in not letting me get away with just talking about things ~ action is required. So I have reached the point where I feel able to stop coming to the group but knowing it is there should I need it. My six weekly meetings with Tina also helped to consolidate what was happening in the group. Tina was always so encouraging, accepting and caring. I will certainly miss everyone very much.
