"Staff are busy but we need care"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

After my recent operation in Lincoln I was disappointed with the nursing on the ward.

Staff know that we go quite some time without food and drink and although the tea was being brought round I was not offered a much needed cup of tea.

And had to wait for domestic staff to come with soup, It would not have taken many minutes to do as the domestic staff were in the kitchen.

Dear Jape

I am extremely sorry for your poor experience; there is no excuse for patients in any setting being left to feel uncared and waiting long periods for food and drink after an operation.

I would like to be able to share your story with the relevant ward so they are aware of what happened during your stay. As you have not mentioned the ward name, I would be grateful if you could email me via patient.experience@ulh.nhs.uk and I'll ensure its passed to the senior nursing team.

Thank you for telling us your story and please once again accept my apologies for your difficult and distressing stay.

Sharon
