"Disappointed"

About: Crompton Health Centre

I have always praised the surgery and in comparison to othersthis one was excellent but sadly lately its been disappointing. I find its not easy to get an appointment and rarely possible to see a specific Dr I don't understand what has changed maybe too many patients I was there today and couldn't get an appointment with a certain Dr till 16th Sep so had to settle for a Dr I didn't know. I do hope in the future things improve,.

Thank you for the feedback. Although you describe many positive experiences in the past I am sorry you only felt able to post a negative one.

A routine appointment can take longer as the GP you wanted to see has 2 weeks holiday and hence his waiting list is longer than usual.

We are not sure of how to solve the problem of having to wait for a particular GP and if you have any ideas we are happy to hear them.

We were glad to be able to offer you an appointment for the Monday (you booked on Friday) with another GP whom you have met before.

You were given a double appointment I believe as you had several items you wished to discuss.

Your last appointment was booked 2 days before you were seen and the one before that was 1 day before.

I do agree we have too many patients.

I would much rather have fewer and dedicate more time to each one.

This is not an option however.

GP surgeries are not allowed to stop accepting new patients unless there are extreme circumstances and we make an application to NHS England.

We cannot turn people away.

As the number of GPs per patient continues to fall in this country we are having to spread ourselves thinner and thinner.

This is on a backdrop of increasing patient expectation and increasing medical and social complexity. I too hope things improve in the future.
