My mum died after a short illness and I feel that the care and communication from this hospital was appalling. The outcome for my mum wouldn't have been any different but the care she received during her illness could have been greatly improved.
She was told, in my presence, that she had a malignant tumour on her liver yet didn't ever have this diagnosis recorded, my mum had 3 weeks at home where she was in agony, extremely poorly and had no support services available at all before being readmitted to Bassetlaw.
The most concerning this about this is that I contacted the hospital after my mum's death and there was no acknowledgment of their failings. I feel that they clearly don't take patient feedback seriously and do not want to learn or improve from this. I am just thankful that I have no other family members in this area who may have access their services.
"Extremely poorly with no support"
