"Generally, very good care"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Emergency Department Salisbury District Hospital

(as a service user),

Generally, very good care from all staff in both hospitals. Food good.

Only negative is doctors talking amongst themselves on rounds without giving enough explanation to me, the patient. I felt I shouldn't have to ask! Given the opportunity to ask the response was quite adequate. It can feel as though you are not present when rounds take place!

Dear 'indiahx49',

My name is Jane and I am the Clinical Matron for Emergency Care. Thank you for your comments regarding Treliske Hospital. We aspire to achieve a high standard of care in our hospital and I am pleased that you rated the care as being of a 'very good' standard.

I am disappointed that you felt that the doctors were not involving you in their discussions regarding your care. Although they may have had to have a discussion regarding treatment options, this should either not have been done in your presence or they should have explained to you that this is what they were doing. I will raise this with the doctors in my areas and remind them to be inclusive at all times and to keep patients fully informed.

Kind Regards

Jane
