I refer to my experience as a myeloma patient being treated by the Haematology Dept staff. I have found the Reception staff pleasnt and helpful. The Conultants have been exceptionally respectful, efficient and open when discussing all aspects of my treatment, including very important decisions involving allowing me sometimes to make choices of medicines and treatment regimes where this was possible and appropriate. The Nurses, with whom I had most regular contact, were all charming, helpful and efficient, well aware of the need to reassure patients who were worried or unsure of what chemotherapy processes entail. I have noticed the fast pace at which they work and how supportive they are of each other. They are an excellent team, encouraging positive attitudes in colleagues and patients alike. In additon, the service provided by the Macmillan staff has been very impressive and useful.
