"My mums treatment and stay in hospital."

About: King's Mill Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

My 88 year old mum who has dementia had a fall, broke her pelvis and needed an operation to have it pinned. In my opinion the medical staff did a wonderful job. My concerns are about the attitude and communication of nurses on the ward. I found them uncommunicative and unhelpful at times. As a very vulnerable person I believe my mum needs us to be fully informed at all times. This I didn't find to be the case and I found them to be unhelpful in one respect which might have added to my mums discomfort and certainly problematic for her had it not been resolved at our insistence before she was discharged
