"Really impressed with A&E, thank you"

East Surrey has been my local hospital for the last 40 years or so, and I admit my rather negative feelings towards it were brought about by a horrible experience giving birth nearly 19 years ago. But, based on our last few visits to A&E (thankfully these visits were about six years apart, although we also have more recent experience of emergency rooms in hospitals abroad), this negativity is completely unjustified. Our visit last night was faultless; the parking system has been upgraded, as had the waiting and reception areas. We were seen within the timeframe advertised and were treated with courtesy, professionalism, respect and kindness. We hear so much negativity about the NHS in general, but East Surrey’s A&E dept was exemplary and as good as any hospitals we have visited in the US or Europe, including those that are privately funded. Thank you so much to everyone who helped us last night.
