"A&E nothing short of amazing"

About: Airedale General Hospital / Accident and emergency

Went into A&E 6/8/19 with an asthma attack. The ladies at reception are clearly very well trained. She handed me pen and paper so I could write my answers to her questions and I was handed a red wristband which is apparently an indication that person has allergies.

I sat down in reception and was called almost immediately to see the triage nurse. From there I went and sat down in the waiting room only to be called again almost immediately to my cubicle and it wasn't very long at all until I was on a nebuliser which I reaped the benefits from straight away. It did take a little while to see the doctor but I'd had loads of tests done so of course she needed the results of those. I was also given a chest x-ray just to be thorough. The doctor even informed me as she was passing by to apologise for keeping me waiting as she was dealing with a very sick patient. She didn't need to do that but this was just the level of excellent care provision I witnessed during my time at A&E. Even the man who was being very argumentative all because he was being kept waiting. Security was there as backup but held back at a comfortable distance whilst the staff member spoke firmly but respectfully to this man and dealt with him so well and diffused what potentially could have been a much more tricky situation. Again, the staff are very well trained in all areas of client care. Excellent service all round. Very happy with all areas. And the waiting time wasn't that bad to be fair. Got there just after 4pm and was out by 7.30pm.
