Im very satisfied with the doctors who delivered my baby and my nurse and midwife too!!! Ante natal was amazing as well as one of the triage nurse.
I was severely anxious and this nurse was amazing! My waters broke early, I was really nervous and nearly had an anxiety attack, other staff need training in triage, some leave comments and don’t seem to calm you down when you’re anxious. I had two types of Inductions. The first one was in the antenatal clinic, one of the nurse calmed me down, she also provided me with a private room which I was gonna very happy about.
- I am severely claustrophobic and I was severely anxious and luckily had my own room at the Ante natal clinic. I didn’t want forceps and luckily didn’t have one! My epidural was great too, it was a male doctor but he was really nice. I’m just disappointed that it feels really hot and you can’t control the air con and I had developed claustrophobia at the post natal ward. I woke up one night screaming and crying and all I wanted was to leave the ward. The nurse who came to do my ops frustrated me even more by saying that I’m not allowed to get fresh air because I kept saying I’m not feeling well, suddenly another nurse came to me, held my hand and I calmed down, she said I can go out for fresh air. I wasn’t sure if I should leave my Baby behind as she was under the blue light for her jaundice. - which was MISTAKE! Me and my husband went out for a small walk, After coming back I found my baby alone, screaming and crying wand her eye mask fell off, the powerful blue light was on her eyes! No nurse or anyone around her!!! I was also disappointed with one of the staff. I had asked her to get my baby milk, as I couldn’t leave she gave me the milk, - the milk which i and stored in the fridge was supposed to be finished. When I went to feed my baby later again, I noticed my bottle of milk was still there, my one, just like everyone else’s milk had my name on there. I asked her whose milk she used, she didn’t respond. - no one did anything about it.
The worst part was when this nurse came in to teach breast feeding. She came with a dirty doll and a breast made of knitted wool. I didn’t like it that she sat on my bed and placed these items on my bed at all!!! She also changed my baby, and left poo in her bum. She made a comment because I used expensive water wipes which cost £2.70 and she was saying: young parents with little money want to spend so much. - well I was and am may be on a higher salary than her for my age and even if I’m not she could’ve nicely told me rather than making this comment. Also she had very bad breath I couldn’t breathe. I’m also not happy with one of the paediatrician who did a baby check up. She was very clumsy. After my anxiety attack I had been given a window bay as I was very adamant and stubborn and in tears a couple gave up their bay for me. - post natal ward needs windows! And it’s hot!
