"Shocking service"

About: Church View Surgery

had foot surgery at the royal Hallamshire on 30/7/19 that included stitches in the sole of my foot, I am an insulin dependant diabetic so it is important that my wounds do not get infected as this could have severe complications

During the surgery the surgeon told me I had to get a wound review in 5 days, afterwards I called the practice to be told that no appointments were available after arguing my case about the importance of the wound review the lady agreed to speak to her superior and see if they could unblock an appointment for Tuesday 6/8/19 and also for the stitches removed the following week.

After a while she called back to confirm that yes I had an appointment on the 6th at 10am and a further appointment on the 12th, I then relayed these dates back to her

Attended today for the review, no appointment had been made but there is one for stitches removal on the 12th,

I had attended a walk in centre at the weekend who advised that the wound was open so here I am at the clinic with an open wound, in pain worried about infection and no appointment to be told we can offer appointments at other practices but not today, when I asked about the discharge letter from the consultant, the practice said they had not received it, after speaking to the consultants secretary they sent an electronic and postal copy to the gp who should I believe!!!

Good news is that after many phone calls to the surgeons secretary I have an appointment at DRI for the review today I can only hope that the appointment on the 12th is on, the receptionist said it is but that's no guarantee that its actually going to happen!!

Overall a shocking experience!! you only have to read the reviews on here
