"Worst organised doctors in west sussex"

About: The Croft Surgery

My experience here was terrible, got there at 9am in the morning was expecting a 12 minute delay, was there for over 50 minutes about something I’ve been trying to go to the doctors for years watching people walk in and straight into there doctor, after being so anxious and overwhelmed I went to the receptionist and asked for help and because I didn’t give them a reason on the phone I wasn’t priority, even tho I’ve been waiting nearly a hour. So I left in a state and rang them up to explain my situation, the girl on the phone was lovely and understanding and assured me that if I came back at 4 I wouldn’t have to wait to long now I gave her the reason. So I got there dead on 4. Sane thing happened watching people walk in and straight into there doctor. This time I waited 40 minutes and couldn’t stay there any longer due to wanting to cry in the waiting room because im so scared of the situation. Really hasn’t helped my situation as it’s took me over 4 years to get the confidence to speak to someone. Well i definitely don’t now after this. I’m so disappointed they just tell you what you want to hear and not in it to look after people but the money. I’ve not cried in years but cried 3 times today due to nerves and what I could find out. Definitely won’t be going to a doctor with my problem now as I can’t face this again. So could possibly have testicular cancer and they wasn’t keen on helping. I’m changing doctors and wouldn’t advise anyone to go here.

We were obviously very concerned by the tone of this message, and the distress which the contributor had expressed.

We managed to work out the identity of the patient and made contact to explain that both surgeries he attended were duty and same day emergency appointments, and because of the nature of these surgeries there can be a considerable delay on occasion. We could only apologise for the fact that he had encountered these difficulties twice on the same day, and our apology was accepted.

We have agreed to provide an appointment at a more convenient time in a routine surgery, and this has been accepted.
