"A and E - blocked esophagus treatment"

About: The Great Western Hospital / Accident and emergency

Arrived at approximately 8:30 PM and after checking myself in to reception was immediately seen by a nurse however I was then placed in the waiting room until 12:30 AM at which time I was finally able to see a doctor and explain the problem.

The doctor was very helpful although the wait and treatment took an additional four hours before I was able to see a specialist who then had me checked into a hospital ward. The waiting time seemed much longer than necessary and often nurses were chatting and time wasting although I was the only person in the waiting room at the ENT rooms. On the whole once I began receiving treatment I found the hospital and stuff to be most professional although the waiting time prior to treatment requires improvement and I believe urgency in treating matters is paramount
