"Unhappy is mild observation of my treatment"

About: The James Cook University Hospital / Pain Management

Have phoned this hospital many many times since middle of May. All I get is the answering machine. I leave my name and tel. Number but still waiting for someone to call me back. I do know that some of the messages that I left have not been acted upon as I was due to have surgery 23rd May but I had to cancel and this I did twice but the messages were not acted upon as the ward called asking where I was. Why have answer machine when not following procedure of returning calls. No wonder hospital has so many missed appointments.

I am very sorry that you are experiencing problems around communication at The James Cook University Hospital.

Please contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01642 854807 who can help to resolve your issues. Unfortunately at the moment we are experiencing temporary problems retrieving messages however we do try to answer as many calls as possible or alternatively if you have access to email our contact address is stees.pals@nhs.net

The PALS service is available Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm excluding bank holidays.

When PALS officers are dealing with other enquirers, you may reach the voicemail.

Under these circumstances, please leave a message with your name and contact telephone number and an indication on the most convenient time to ring you back.
