"Problem with wood splinter in my hand"

About: St. James Surgery

In June I got a splinter in my hand, which I thought I had removed, but a swelling subsequently appeared. On examination by Nurse, then Nurse/Practitioner followed by Doctor I was referred to Royal United Hospital in Bath for an Ultrasound scan. The remaining part of the splinter was removed the same day by the Hospital's small injuries clinic. Excellent follow up care was provided by the GP practice. 18 months ago my late wife was found to have a brain tumor, again the support from the staff was excellent
