(as a relative),

The attention and care is second to none!

    But could something please be done about the constant boom boom noise from BBC Radio One in the Waiting Area. To sit and wait at a worrying time is not helped by the constant repetitive bass tones booming out.It  is, to say the least, annoying and irritating.

    If we must have music, please make it more appropriate for the predominatly middle aged and elderly ill patieints who are sitting there.

Dear Irritated relative,

Thank you for taking the time to give this valuable feedback of your recent experience and glad to hear that the attention and care was second to none.

In relation to the level of music that was playing, please accept my since apologies regarding the selection of choice of the radio station chosen.

I fully appreciate waiting anxiously as a relative is difficult enough without the constant booming from the radio in the background which is not the intention of having background music.

Please be assured I have discussed with key staff within the area to reflect on your feedback and to be mindful of 'what matters' element of care for all patients and their family around music that is played in the background in waiting areas.

This will be monitored to ensure recognition of middle aged and elderly ill patients as you rightly say waiting is considered.

Thank you once again for sharing your experience as we really appreciate information to help improve our service which includes the environment where patients and families wait.
