Every aspect of the experience exceeded my expectations which, based on word of mouth recommendations, were already high. The hospital itself is immaculately clean and spacious. Whenever I needed an Xray etc there was no waiting around. I was patiently reassured by a Sister the evening before the operation, who devoted a lot of time to calm me down. The operation went well. The nursing in Critical Care afterwards was without fault - a memorable mix of professionalism , warmth and kindness, laced with good humour. It was exactly the same during the three days spent later in the Ingleborough Ward.
From everything I saw, the management of the hospital in each and every aspect seems exemplary.
And i reckon that the Critical Care Diary kept by the nurses and given to patients to fill in gaps in their memory during the first 48 hours after the operation is a brilliant idea.
