Went to urgent care last night. Receptionist was lovely even though I thought might be wasting their time, she reassured me and took my details with a smile! Waited next to no time being seen by a nurse who checked my temperature, pulse etc (I thought I had a chest infection) he explained to wait outside and a dr will call me to be examined. Again waited no time for a dr. Dr asked about my symptoms, who asked me if I smoke which I replied I do and said about 20 a day, I was waiting for the lecture and rightly so but he asked me if I work? I replied I don’t and he then pulled a comment about me being able to afford the luxury of cigarettes whilst not working. Very judgmental in my opinion, he doesn’t know me etc and to be in his position as a dr pulling a judgemental comment is unprofessional. Prior to that I told him I was in recovery for alcoholism and had been taking lozenges for my very painful throat which was concerning me as one of the ingredients is medical jargon and had a name and alcohol next to it. He didn’t comment, ask to see the packet and could have quickly reassured me. After the comment about me not working and affording to smoke I didn’t really want to ask him if the lozenges were safe and how much alcohol was in them! I would have given 5 stars but wasn’t given the same respect I had shown him
