My reporting some spotting which could indicate a recurrence of Uterine Polyps to my GP Riverbank Practice in Thurso resulted in a quick referral to Dr Aziz and arrangement of a pre-op assessment in CGH in early July. I received a letter offering me an appointment in CGH at 8am in mid July which I accepted. I write this comment on that evening having attended CGH, been treated with great kindness and consideration by both the Day Care Unit stall in both the ward and theatre. As an 80 year old patient who lives alone, they had booked a bed in case I required extended care and and moved me up from 3rd to first on the list. I, in fact, made a very good and swift recovery and was back in the ward by 10. 10am. I was wide awake and comfortable and enjoyed 2 glasses of water and tea and toast. I was visited by the Consultant and Anethetist and reassured that all my concerns had been totally addressed, mainly following my previous polypectomy 3. 5 years before which left me with a Broad spectrum antintibiotic resistant bug which caused me over 6 months of repeated UTIs.
My heartfelt thanks and congratulations to a well run and highly effective unit in CGH.
