"Diabetic department answer machine needs to be changed"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital (Paisley)

(as the patient),

I regularly have to telephone the diabetic department at RAH for advice on what insulin dosages I need to take. But recently when phoning the message on the answering machine is very confusing to myself and other patients also I imagine.  The message says "the answering machine is checked daily at 9am 12 noon and, 3pm but then says please allow 24 hrs before someone gets back to you this message is very confusing when it says messages checked daily. I would kindly ask if the message could be looked into as it's very confusing when a nurse does not reply to you throughout the day

Dear Waterloo

Many thanks for your helpful message on the Diabetic Department Answering Machine. Feedback like this is welcomed to allow us to improve the service we provide to patients.

I will share this feedback with the Lead Nurse for the Diabetic Service who will review the current information provided to the patients and amend and simplify the message as required.

Thank you again,

Jacqueline
