"Nerve pain all over the body"

Pain started a few months ago, burning going all through the body, because of that my reaction time dropped I dont feel safe driving, and every touch is painful. After many visits at my GP practice I was referred to Western to see neurologist, who spent with me 3 minutes said I need MRI and that I will need to wait in total about 7-9 weeks or scan and results. Didn't advise any painkillers, or how I should cope (I am less than 30 and have two small kids) I am not able to work or even take care of my self properly. Said it maybe "just wear and tear", I am asking how is it that wear and tear makes me so miserable. I understand that without test result they cant do much, but I was treated as some thing that surely can survive more weeks of pain. 

It has been 10 weeks, I don't sleep at night, I am not fully awake during the day and now kids have summer holidays. I feel like people which should help me don't even think I need help.
