With the off-set of pleurisy I telephoned for an appointment on Monday 1st July, but could not get an appointment with a doctor, as by the time I had got through they were all taken, even though it was then 8.45
The appointment offered was with a nurse, which I accepted.
I had pains in my chest between my rib cage, a cough, and was feeling very low indeed.
I have been on chest medication all my life.
I was sent home after examination and told to take Paracetamol.
I was extremely shocked as when I have had these symptoms before I have always been given strong medication.
I was given a follow-up for the Thursday with the same nurse, which I attended, by which time I was feeling extremely bad. I was given Amoxicillin, though I know she did not want to do this.
I do not make a fuss and keep running to the Doctor unnecessarily, that, they should know from my records.
I only attend for prescription renewal for my regular chest prescriptions which I need. I am aghast that I have felt the need to write this review about Devon Road Surgery, as I have generally been happy.
However, I am still feeling ill due to the delay in receiving medication, and it has damaged an appetite which I was struggling with, but getting there.I am deeply upset.
