"my husband and pain management"

About: Queen's Hospital / Accident & emergency

early March 2019, my husband had pain in his leg and groin after moving heavy furniture etc., After a visit to the doctor, we were advised to go to A&E as he was in so much pain. Spent 9 hours in A&E to be told they were unable to find anything and sent him home with paracetamol. During this visit, after a scan, he was told he had a quad tear. Still in lots of pain, we paid for him to be seen privately again. During this consultation we were informed that it was hip related and advised to travel up to London for a cortisone injection, that didn't work. Still in pain, we visited the poly clinic in Harold Wood who advised we get an appointment with the pain management team. After contact we we're informed that the waiting list was 12 - 20 weeks. Again, we went privately to see if anyone could sort out his pain. After a consultation, the consultant advised us he would refer us back to Queen's Hospital for several tests which included ultra scan, nuclear bone scan. After many visits to A&E we have several diagnosis, hip fracture, nerve injury, quad tear, and the latest, Paget's disease. We are at our wits end, and my husband, who is 72, is in so much pain that he is not eating, losing weight, taking short naps of an hour during the night. Where do we go from here. No one should be in so much pain and no clear diagnosis. Unfortunately, he is unable to take anti inflamitary tablets as he is on Plavix for stents in his legs, and cannot have an MRI because of a pacemaker. Surely there is someone who could help with his pain which has been consistent for nearly 4 months.
