"overcoming the fear of hospitals"

About: Colchester General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

My mother has had a phobia of hospitals since she was a child in the 1940s, and it took a huge effort to convince her to have a hip replacement operation. When she was in Colchester general, she found it so friendly and efficient that she actually enjoyed her stay there, and I am really grateful to all of the amazing staff that put her at ease and looked after her during her stay. I am happy to say that everything went very well, and she is recovering well. She doesn't use the internet, but wants me to express her gratitude to all of the staff, particularly those on Great Tey ward, who made her time there comfortable, added to quality of life, and helped her overcome her fears.

Thank you for your kind words regarding your mothers recent experience at Colchester Hospital, it is great to hear that the your mother enjoyed her stay and that her hip replacement went well. I make sure her kind words are passed on the team on Great Tey . I hope your Mother is making a good recovery and that she wont be worried should she have to come into hospital for anything else in the future. Many thanks
