About: Basildon Adult CMHT Basildon University Hospital Change Grow Live / Southend Treatment and Recovery Service (STARS)

(as a service user),

Hospital - Overstretched - don't have the resources for addiction

Drs- Label you as an addict so any problem you go to an appointment for you feel like the diagnosis has been cast before you walk through the door.

First response Team from Basildon MH services - Big waiting list - yet to be seen.

Basildon Mental Health Assessment Unit - Not a rehab but cared for me for two weeks - set follow up services on release but was never contacted by one service

Stars - Been very supportive and understanding. Have detoxed me and adjusted any support I've needed after alcohol withdrawal. 

I've never felt labelled at this service, rather dealt with an arm of compassion
