I went to Medway a and e as I couldn’t walk with constant spasms on my back and legs.
I was given codeine on arrival and sent to a room next to a and e.
I was not told that this was the in house medic centre.
I sat and waited in for seven hours!!!!!
Until the pain was so bad I just had to leave and go and lie down at home.
Whilst I waited many others commented they had been there for more than 7 hours!
The receptionist was telling new arrivals if they didnt want to wait they could go home, wait for their gp surgery to close, phone the gp emergency line and they would be given a set appointment at the medoc.
Hence jumping the queue.
There were 2 waiting rooms and all those with an appointment were in the back nearer the doctors room.
No one came into our room to call anyone to be seen.
Even tho we were a and e patients.
Why are the receptionists allowed to do this.
One man came in, said he wasn’t that bad, said he wasn’t waiting, obviously took the receptionists advice and was back a couple of hours later, seen almost immediately and was out of the door whilst the rest of us sat in agony.
This is a disgrace.
Your receptionists are a disgrace.
I went home after 7 hours in excruciating pain and saw had to see a doctor privately on Sunday as the nhs simply wouldn’t do anything.
The doctor commented I should hav3 been seen immediately as I had a slipped disc'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
