"My visit to Dermatology,"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Dermatology

(as the patient),

Bit nervous, but glad I got an appointment quickly, infact I was called the evening before to say there was a space the next day, I said I'd take it. Venturing on the Louth to Lincoln bus which needs to be more frequent, especially for hospital appointments.

Getting there with the instruction I received on the phone, which were spot on and exact, I came in, couldn't see the Dermatology department straight away, so I asked at reception, two young ladies were working, both cheery, engaging and extremely helpful, I asked if I were in the right place, they asked my details, informed me it was to the right of the cafe. Walked up to the cafe to grab a drink, the lady serving was busy but served me promptly, I then entered the clinic waiting room, sat down and awaited my time.

People were chatting and mostly bitching about the waiting time amongst themselves, I had arrived early because of bus times, so sat their patiently. A nurse came out and asked about a specific Dr's patients who were waiting, informed of us multiple clinics running so some would be waiting longer, approx 45 mins for some, then they started voicing their opinion to the nurse, I quipped I'd rather be seen in 45 mins than not at all, that shut a couple up. The nurse handed out parking ticket exemptions or something and then left.

My appointment time came and I was called through, the Dr who saw me was very friendly, professional and polite. He examined me and informed me I had nothing to worry about, told me what it was and what I could take/use to alleviate it, which I have done and it isn't bothering me now. As I was leaving I saw a poster about appointments being sent to your phone, I asked at reception with the young ladies and they explained what I needed to do and what would happen. I left and waited for my bus.

Thank you for the NHS and the job you do, if we didn't have it we would be screwed.
