"Appointment at Menopause clinic"

About: Sandyford Clinic

(as a service user),

I was made to feel inferior, that I was wasting the doctors time and I got the impression that the doctor wasn’t interested in what I was saying. I was refused a form of progesterone by the clinic   which is of benefit to me because of an underlying health condition, and told to ask my GP to prescribe it. I have found out that this is available and prescribed at the clinic. I have no idea what the doctors motive was in refusing to dispense this, but it was unnecessary to treat me in this way. I would not have made this appointment if I were not concerned and now I have to make a further appointment with my GP, which is largely unnecessary because it could have been dispensed today.

Dear SouthsideBlonde

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to post feedback about your experience of one of our services. I am very sorry to hear that you felt let down following your appointment and that you felt the Doctor wasn't interested in what you were saying.

I will ensure that your story is shared with the service. If you would like me to pass your details to the service so that they can look into this further, please email julie.craik@nhs.net

Kind regards

Julie
